ABOUT
The International Center of the Capital Region connects students, leaders, and our communities of the New York State Capital Region through international professional exchange, cultural events, youth leadership, and global dialogue.
PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
Uzbekistan Parliament Members
Six Parliament Members from Uzbekistan visited our region to experience American political and civic life. We connected the delegates to individuals in the Capital Region to strengthen mutual understanding and foster goodwill.
Rumsfeld Foundation CAMCA Fellows
We hosted six leaders from Central Asia, Mongolia, the Caucasus, and Afghanistan (CAMCA) for a high-level professional exchange experience. The 2024 CAMCA Fellowship program encouraged intraregional cooperation among the program countries and fostered stronger relations between the U.S. and the CAMCA region. Our impact forged enduring connections and served as a starting point for continued collaboration.
Youth Programming: Model UN
Four high schools participated in the 2024 inaugural Model UN Conference. Students from Shenendehowa, Shaker, Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake, and Guilderland High Schools represented 12 countries and worked in committees on health and environment to create resolutions to help solve issues in these areas.
